Watch this SPACE!
Sessions are curriculum-based and can form part of the teaching; or be enrichment focussed to give the kids the inspiration and excitement to take into the classroom.
Each session can focus on the science and build intrigue, keep it just-for-fun, or provide a calming and sensory experience.
Q&A is an important part and if we focus on this, it's fun to see where we end up in the universe!
You choose what combination of all of these you would prefer.
Or, you can leave it up to me, I've hosted more than 50,000 kids in a planetarium before....
I have hours of specialised immersive material (video and static)
so some example shows might be:
- EYFS: The Natural World, where we can see (and fly through!) the different environments of our planet and learn a bit about our planet. There will be songs!
- KS1: The History of Spaceflight or What's in the Night's Sky?
- KS2: The Space Topic for Year 5. The Solar System, the motion of our planets, and beyond. (At the start to inspire with a "wow" show… or at the end to grill me with questions!).
- KS3: The Electromagnetic Spectrum, and what it can show us in space.
- KS5: Astrophysics elective for A-level physics (OCR or AQA) where we look at the current theories about space.
- Scouts/Guides or Cubs/Brownies: Dark skies, astronomy and navigation to get that badge!
The dome is well suited for space but I also cover many other aspects of the science and geography curriculum at all key-stages. If you have requests, please ask.
Before each booking, I’ll send an ever-growing list of the topics I have immersive visuals for to give some inspiration! I make many of my own materials as well as buy-in commercial products, collaborate and share with others internationally.
And it’s not just schools. I have delivered shows for scouts/guides, cubs/brownies, public events, astronomy clubs, charity events, fundraisers, wellbeing events…. just ask!
